Actor, director and alleged racist and heavy drinker Mel Gibson turns 56 today. Mel, of course, is the star of the Lethal Weapon and Mad Max movies, as well as Braveheart and The Patriot. He's also the writer-director of The Passion of the Christ. Mel was born in Peekskill, New York and moved to Sydney, Australia when he was 12.
