Yesterday during a public memorial for the late former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, Nike founder and chairman Phil Knight defended Paterno, saying that he did the right thing by reporting assistant coach Jerry Sandusky's alleged sexual abuse of young boys to university officials, but not to police. Knight received a standing ovation for making the comments.
