Joe Paterno, the legendary Penn State football coach who was fired in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal, died early yesterday morning of complications from lung cancer. He was 85. Known as "JoePa," Paterno's 46 seasons at Penn State made him one of the most beloved and successful coaches in the history of college sports until the scandal with former assistant coach, Sandusky.
