Claiming that distracted driving "is becoming the new DUI," the NTSB has recommended banning all cell phone use by drivers. Regardless of whether the devices are hand-held or hands-free, the lone exception would be for devices built into cars. The statistics that led to this conclusion are shocking -- last year, 3,092 people were killed in accidents linked to distracted drivers.
