Some students in Traverse City, Michigan almost didn't have a "gay" holiday season after a teacher at Cherry Knoll Elementary School changed the word "gay" in the lyrics of "Deck the Halls." to "don we now our bright apparel." because students kept giggling while singing. School Assistant Superintendent Dr. Jane Mohr issued an apology, saying, "We are so very sorry this happened. The teacher made a poor decision."
