The NCAA imposed a one-year bowl ban and other penalties on Ohio State University's football team yesterday for a scandal that had players receiving $14,000 in cash and tattoos in trade for autographed jerseys, rings and other collectibles. Ohio State was hoping to avoid such sanctions with their own self-imposed penalties, which included vacating the 2010 season, returning bowl game revenue and more.
